current projects

The site for Crossroads Coffee and Icecream is finally live on the web. I worked closely with the staff to design the site. Kaz Rash, who is the Operations Manager, was a very important resource for generating the content for the site. She also designed and drew the graphic for the navigation of the website. It was fun getting to work and know all of the staff of my favorite Richmond coffee shop.

Went to visit my friend Rebecca D’Angelo in Black Mountain, NC. It has been lots of fun so far. I got into town on Thursday around 6pm. We went to a outdoor gathering at this brewery that has a huge field behind it where everyone hangs out and drinks while bands play. It was very mellow and lots of fun. I met some of Rebecca’s friends who were really nice.

We left and went to a bar that had this whole back patio that was filled with sand. They had a strange game that was a cross between horse shoes and frisbee. After we drank a few there we went to the local pub in Black Mountain called Town Pump. It was really cool and we didn’t have to pay anything for our beers.

I went to a fun Potluck the next day with Rebecca and 5 other girls. They were all really nice. I made a really yummy cornbread with Black beans, tomato, avacado and basil. Everyone thought it tasted great. We then all went to Belle Chere which is this annual music and street festival held in downtown Asheville.

Today I chilled out in downtown Black Mountain with Juniper and after I took her back home I went back and read under a tree for a few hours then checked out some of the shops. It is a really nice town!!!

Audiowasteland.com

Just got the space setup on one of my servers for a new website I am creating with my friend Bobby Gorman. It will be a new audioblog that will feature tons of strange albums that he has been collecting for many years as he has traveled around the world. There will be many categories that will be of interest to people who love strange music. Celebrity music albums, religious ventriloquist, and musak albums are just a few of the gems that will be available as mp3’s.

I am having a party for my birthday this Saturday the 14th of June.

I am having a cookout starting around 5pm. I want to make this a potluck so we can all sample some really great food from each other. So bring a dish of food to share and some meat or veggies to grill. Pickup a bag of ice if you can since it will be so hot the more ice the better.

Also bring a bottle of liquor and/or some beer to get your drink on!!! I will be opening up my home bar called the “Clock Out” at this party. Come help stock the bar with lots of great liquor and wines. It is in my large garage in the backyard.

I plan to party all night long so feel free to skip the cookout and come later just to hang and drink. We will be drinking till dawn!!!

I live at 3220 Barton Ave in Northside. I am at the end of the 3200 block on the left hand corner of Merideth Ave and Barton Ave. Easiest way to get to my house is drive north on Chamberlayne Ave toward the Fair Grounds and Race Track. When you get to the intersection with a Walgreens on the left and a BP on the right that is Brookland Park Blvd. Turn right here and go through two stop lights. The second light is North Ave. The next street after this stoplight is Barton Ave. You want to take a left here and drive down Three blocks. My house is the last house on the left corner at the end of the block. There is a really nice wooden fence with copper caps that Andrew Reilly built for me in the front!!!

See you Saturday!!!

Websites page added to blog.

Added a new page on the blog today for links to all of my websites. I have added a cool new functionality to the site called Snap Shots. This allows all links to have a popup window when you hover over the icon to the right of all links. This will open up a small window showing a preview to the site that the link goes to on the web. I really like this feature so the user can have a preview of where the link is going. Very cool!!!

Keeping blogs updated?

I don’t see how people can keep adding to their blogs with such regularity. I guess it is the difference between people who keep journals and people who don’t ever find the time to write stuff down. I feel stupid that the whole month of March I did not add one single post to my blog at all. I am really going to try and at least add interesting articles and links to my site if I don’t have anything else to add.

Cesca and I setup a table at the Lover’s Expo 3 weeks ago. It was a lot of fun and we got to show a bunch of people the site that we both do together Eve in Hand.  This is just a few pictures from that event.

Projects in the pipeline!!!!

Got some great projects coming to me really soon.

One will be a music blog I will be doing with a close friend that has an incredibly strange collection of records. Stuff ranging from ventriloquist dummy Christian to obscure celebrity music albums. I will also help contribute content to this site with some of my own weird albums. My first one I want to add is The All Accordion Orchestra.

I will also be working on some sites for some clients. I have an artist who paints, a photographer, a puppeteer, a house painter and a band. I will stagger my work on these but as usually is the case the flow of content form them will be slow enough for me to work a little on all of them at once.

I will be posting mockups and sketches of my work flow as I work on these. I will also probably throw up some concept UI and galleries to test. I am hoping having this site will be a good way for me to share my design process and more about what I am up too.
